Mazda RX8

This model is for an on-running project for my University, which is due in mid-January.

At the moment, the basic body has been completed, i created this starting with a small plane on the wheel arch. From there i cloned the edges multiple times, and corrected the vertices in order to keep in the lines on all view ports.

After the full body work is constructed, i will start on the undercarriage and the inside of the car. I am going for as much detail as possible, in order to make the RX8 look the best that i can.

This Model has also had 2 Mesh-smooths added to it. I may use NURMS, or NURBS in the finished product, but for now the mesh-smooths work just as well.

Stormy Sea Scene

The video included in this post is of a Stormy Sea, this was created using a tutorial, and my own adjustments when i felt that, for example, the lighting wasn't right, or the sea was not to my liking.
After spending a little time on the tutorial, it was possible for me to finish without the rest of the guide. However, one problem i encountered, was when i tried to put rain into the scene, unfortunately, i am yet to solve the problem, and the rain appears as large squares, this will be corrected shortly.

First Real Project

Here is a Picture from the end product, of my first project using 3D Studio Max. It was used as 3D concept artwork for a short game that was created for my university course.

My main aim was to create a medieval type city setting, and this was also a test of new lighting i had learned.

The rest of the city scene was small, and included houses, a market and a blacksmiths.

Also included is an overview of an early render before i added the blacksmiths cottage at the back of the city.

At this point i added a small market place, which is yet to be filled with produce.

As this was my first major project using 3Ds Max, i went for a simplistic feel, using basic shapes and basic techniques.
